Scrooge Laments Having to Play His Expensive Commander Deck Against Cratchit's Proxies

London, UK - Local despondent businessman Ebenezer Scrooge caused a scene at his local game store after he was paired with his subordinate Bob Cratchit in a Magic: The Gathering cEDH match.

His complaints stemmed from the fact that even though Scrooge had taken time to build a successful, strong, and blinged-out Commander deck, he had to face Cratchit who used a proxy deck he printed from a local library.

"Bah humbug, what is this balderdash?" loudly complained Scrooge after setting down his custom 3D-printed deck box and seeing the cards his opponent had. "My God, man, it's bad enough I have to deal with your destitute nonsense on the clock, only to have to face you once again when I come to this gaming parlor! Do you know what it took for me to get this deck together?

"Hours and hours of digging through Archideckt analytics just to find the right cards, custom ordering sleeves with my face on it, and getting someone to hand-carve dice out of gemstones to match the colors of Edric, Spymaster of Trest, my commander. Meanwhile you're using fake cards over there, and don't try to sell me a dog, I can tell those are proxies from a mile away."

Though Cratchit's young son was present, Scrooge wasted no breath in expressing his rage towards the man and the deck he was forced to face.

"Who do you think you are, trying to pass off these shoddy slips of paper as a deck? You should be ashamed of yourself! I have half a mind to report you to the proper authorities and get you thrown in a beggar's prison. The only real way to play this game is to waste a lot of money on it so you can be just as angry and despondent about the price of the accessories and premium cards as I am. Haven't you ever played Magic before? You sicken me."

At press time Scrooge was visited by three ghosts, Rofellos, Leovold, and Nadu, who warned him of the error of his ways of playing an expensive and powerful Simic Commander deck.
