Atlanta, GA – Magic: The Gathering fans descended upon Atlanta this weekend to attend MagicCon, one of the biggest card game events of the year. Fans from around the world got together to play the game they love, see content creators and game developers they enjoy, and spend more money than they were planning on.

They also got to witness all the new and incomprehensible card spoilers for upcoming Secret Lair sets at various panel discussions. They could also purchase Secret Lair cards, which led to something that was celebrated for how it made con-goers feel like a part of the action: the line to buy Secret Lair products, which fans said was a truly immersive experience.

Tanya Reynolds, a MagicCon badge-holder, described her time waiting to get her hands on Secret Lair cards:

“I always hate lines at these cons, but this one was actually perfect, like the ideal Secret Lair line experience. I had to line up with a bunch of other people to wait to get let into the area where we could purchase our cards. After we picked them up we had to wait 60 minutes to pay, and a few random people got kicked out of line for no reason and had to start the whole process over again. It’s just like online ordering!”

Jacob Glein, another attendee, mentioned his favorite part of the line mimicked an animation from the Secret Lair ordering process.

“Yeah it was neat, Wizards had a guy in a white buddy suit jog along an orange path next to the line, just like when you wait on the website; how cool is that? My boyfriend Craig didn’t have enough money to make it to Con this year, so he’s at home organizing his lands to make him feel like he’s traveling. But luckily I was able to stand in two different lines (and see the weird white guy multiple times), so I can tell him all about it!”

At press time, rumors began to circulate that the Secret Lair loading screen white body suit man will be a part of one of the only non-Universes Beyond standard sets in 2027.
