Fleem Replacing Spider-Man in All Hasbro Digital Games

Pawtucket, RI – Gaming company Hasbro has announced that Spider-Man will no longer be coming to any of their board game applications, and will be replaced with newly-popular Magic: The Gathering star Fleem, Goben’s Creation.

While many believe this is due to Fleem’s budding positive relationship with audiences, it is instead due to a licensing snafu with Marvel and Hasbro.

“There is an issue that we cannot ignore,” began Preston Darby, spokesperson for Hasbro, in a message to shareholders earlier today. “As you know, Wizards had to make the upcoming Arena-only set Through the Omenpaths due to the fact that they aren’t legally allowed to use digital Marvel art on playing cards. Unfortunately, while preparing for upcoming promotional events in other games, we discovered another issue.

“It was bad enough we can’t have the new Universes Beyond: Spider-Man set online since Marvel Snap has the digital rights to Spider-Man cards. Now we have to deal with the fact that Marvel already sold the digital rights to Spider-Man board games to Newgrounds in a bad business move in the 2000s, meaning we can’t have Peter Parker’s name or bemasked face anywhere near our board game apps.”

Created for the Through the Omenpaths set, human villain Goben’s goblin creation Fleem has instantly become a fan favorite since his unveiling online, and will be used as Spider-Man’s in-game replacement going forward.

“So we apologize to the users of Guess Who?: Mobile, Operation GO!, or the Battleship: Drone Combat Training Tool app who have been looking forward to our upcoming collaborations with everyone’s favorite neighborhood web-crawler. Instead we will be replacing the hero in those events with everyone’s new favorite goblin, Fleem! We hope you’re looking forward to a bevy of Fleem-related updates to our mobile catalogue, such as a Fleem-only board for Guess Who?: Mobile, and a new version of Cavity Sam in Operation GO! that looks like Fleem’s incredibly weird and oddly-proportioned body!”

At press time, Fleem was taken in for questioning regarding his involvement in the Charlie Kirk shooting earlier this week.
