Despite Uncontrollable Leaks, WOTC Says Edge Will Still Be Enjoyable at Full Release

After a surprisingly messy series of leaks became plastered across several subreddits, Wizards of the Coast took to social media to reassure Magic players that the complete and total release of Edge of Eternities would still be enjoyable.

In a statement posted on X, Wizards stated “Although these unexpected leak drops mean there is less to see later, that doesn’t mean there isn’t more fun to be had.  We still have two weeks to go before pre-release and there is still lots more to come.”

On reddit, where most of the leaks were first posted, the reaction appeared mixed.  Although a photo gallery of all the collected leaks was the top voted post, the top voted comment told a different story.  In the comment, redditor /u/SomeStupidRedditor stated “Sorry, but if I see a single leak, the entire Edge of Eternities is ruined. You all can keep going if you want, but I’m a purist when it comes to this stuff, so I’m done.”

Across socials, content creators seemed united in the message that, although leaks are sometimes uncontrollable, it doesn’t mean it’s okay to make content about it. One well known streamer posting “If you actually like when leaks happen, that’s your business, but to turn around and make content out of it is totally uncalled for.”

Although nothing can be done about the leaks at this point, now that spoiler season has officially begun, players no longer have to worry about leaks.  The official Magic twitch stream kicked off what now be a steady stream of surprises building up to pre-release, when players can finally get their first taste of Edge of Eternities.
