Report: Legendary Creatures Printed in 2026 Outnumber Registered U.S. Voters

Washington, D.C. – Well-regarded polling organization Quinnipiac University released a startling report this week that the current number of Americans registered to vote in the upcoming midterm election is less than the number of Magic: The Gathering cards that were printed with the Legendary supertype this year.

Such a report comes as a worrying snapshot of the voting populace and the number of IP-focused characters necessary to print a set of modern Magic cards.

“These numbers are just downright staggering,” complained political commentator and Magic aficionado James Carville. “I am flabbergasted at these reported numbers, and feel more twisted up than a Kansas field during tornado season. For some these numbers ain’t good for politics and they damn sure ain’t good for the success of a creature base for your Standard and Limited environments!”

From Abigale to Zuri, Magic has printed over 700 Legendary creatures this year with more on the way due to the upcoming Star Trek: Universes Beyond set.

“How’s anyone supposed to get anything done when we gotta worry about fifteen Spider-Man cards that all have different names and abilities? Where the heck are all of the non-legendary creatures going? Heck, how are we supposed to build a Sealed deck when every creature kills itself if it sees a copy of itself, like the plot from a bad 90s sci-fi action film?

“Frankly as a Republican I’m jazzed as heck about the low voting numbers since that means there’s a less-politically-educated populace that’s easily distractible, but the Legend rule stuff is so dadgum silly and stupid, and the American public needs to work to fix it!”

After Carville finally stopped talking, other Magic fans were questioned about their stance on the abundance of Legendary creatures.

Local gamer Tracy Fondito said she is fed up with the number of Legendary creatures: “It’s so tough seeing a new legendary guy every fifteen minutes. Just as bad as seeing yet another political ad from someone saying their opponent is going to let drag queens eat for free at school cafeterias or something. That’s why I’m not voting this year; I’m annoyed with all of it.”

At press time polling numbers now show that Trump has a worse approval rating than Jace though both of them constantly try to destroy reality.
