Wizards and Subway to Collaborate on Footlong Cards

Shelton, CT - In a new partnership with game maker Wizards of the Coast, sandwich shop Subway has announced promotional footlong Magic: The Gathering cards.
The cards, 8 and a half inches longer than normal Magic cards, are part of a trend the company has been leaning into the past few years.
"We are proud to be adding a new member of our footlong family," explained Jane Muffaletto, spokesperson for Subway IP, LLC., herself only one foot tall. "It's been proven time and time again that Subway customers care about length. From our viral sensations the footlong cookie and churro, to footlong nachos and our soon-to-be-released footlong mayonnaise packet, our fans know we can give them the length they want and the length they deserve.
"We also know Magic: The Gathering to be one of the largest gaming properties in the world. From card games to a handful of bad board games to a TV show/movie that has been in development hell, Magic is known the world over for many things, but not things 12-inches long. Our partnership will allow Magic cards to be produced that heighten (and lengthen) the imagination of players all over the planet."
Each card, available with the purchase of a footlong sandwich, will come individually wrapped and presented in the same paper containing the sandwich to emphasize how both are the same size.
"The cards are going to be as amazing and long as your favorite Subway sandwich," said WOTC spokesperson Trent Crosby while enjoying an overly-sauced Italian BMT. "We thought we'd do something fun with this promotion, and we're making Universes-Beyond-esque variants of some of the most important Food items in Magic. Fans of both long sandwiches and Commander will enjoy the footlong Syr Ginger, the Meal Ender. Standard fans with a sweet tooth will enjoy the footlong Carrot Cake. Finally, be sure to get your hands on the footlong Golden Egg, which looks just like the one I got when I pitched this promotion idea in the first place."
At press time, Subway confirmed that you can get the footlong cards toasted.
