Midwest Card Theft: Suspects Identified, Warrant Issued

Josh Nelson • March 14, 2024

Last December, we began coverage of a string of trading card robberies in the Midwest United States. Reliquary Gaming, a local game store in Chesterton, Indiana, reported that three individuals stole full binders of trading cards from their supply in broad daylight. Shortly thereafter, Champaign Sports Cards of Savoy, Illinois, reported a similar event. Three individuals stole trading cards from the store during working hours. These events led our investigations to Miami, Florida, where one suspect's TikTok account belied his whereabouts. We also know that the alleged thieves sold some of their spoils to A&A Games in Olney, Illinois, a store likely none the wiser.

Today, Reliquary Gaming confirmed to us that the suspects have been identified in a lineup of older mugshots. What's more, the suspects are being charged with level 6 felony theft, and a warrant is out for their arrest. This information is about a week old, but due to the nature of the US judicial system, it will take time for too many more updates to arise.

However, we can now share the alleged thieves' identities. In addition to Brooks Allen Clinton, whose past crimes we have covered in the Miami story, the other two individuals charged are Joshua Norris and Abbie Zimmerman. Like Clinton, Norris and Zimmerman are both from Kalamazoo, Michigan. According to Norris' Facebook account, he now resides in Miami. Additionally, according to Zimmerman's Facebook, she is in a relationship with Norris. Zimmerman also brought along her husky-breed dog to accompany them during this string of thefts, so it is likely safe to assume the dog is also still with the three.

If all goes accordingly, justice will come to the alleged thieves. In the meantime, anyone with additional information should reach out to Chesterton, Indiana police at (219) 926-1136. We will provide any future updates as they come.
