Mamdani Visits Phyrexian Invasion Memorial in Show of Interplanar Solidarity

Tenth District, RAVNICA – New York City plane politician Zohran Mamdani, in a show of respect for his new friend the living guildpact Niv-Mizzet, took an omenpath to honor a newly-created memorial documenting the Phyrexian Invasion.

The visit comes on the day of 9/11, a tragic event in the now-ubiquitous New York City plane he currently has a guildpact with.

“I thank you Ravnican citizens for allowing me to stand here with you today,” remarked Mamdani in a speech to the Azorious Senate. “Tragedy is unfortunately a bond we share, but we also share the ability to come back from those tragedies. The heroes of both New York and Ravnica worked hard to save as many people as we could during these terrible events. There are many differences, of course: no New York citizens were deformed into terrifying flesh creatures with blades for hands and teeth for eyes, and you guys didn’t have Nicol Bolas bragging that he has the ‘tallest plane in the multiverse now’.

“Thanks to the recent opening of the omenpaths, we have the ability to come together and find common ground on issues and work toward great things, with this memorial to the Phyrexian Invasion being an example. By working closely with New York trade unions and the civil engineers of the Izzet League, we have created this monument to remember what happens when something tries to divide us, and how we can stand strong in the face of evil.”

At the end of the speech, Mamdani addressed issues he sees trying to tear apart the city he was visiting and the city he comes from.

“The threat of the Phyrexians may be gone, but the scars they left behind won’t fade easily. We now fully understand that friends and family can easily be turned to wickedness. We know how easily hatred can infect anyone, causing them to speak and act in ways antithetical to a positive society. And we understand that our foes know how powerful it is to split us up and cause division. But as long as we stand strong together against the elements trying to tear us apart, we can weather any tragedy and overcome any obstacle.”

At press time, Niv-Mizzet was on his way to New York to give a speech at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, but was forced to leave the city after ICE intervention.
