ALTADENA, CA -- Wildfires are currently ravaging southern California, and as firefighters and volunteers race to slow the blaze, the fire's impact has been devastating for thousands of residents in the area.
One resident is familiar to long-time Magic: The Gathering players as an artist credited with more than 50 cards starting in Mirage. Artist Andrew Robinson and his family lost their home in the fires that swept through Altadena, California earlier this week, and his sister Jessica Robinson has established a GoFundMe to support his family's recovery.
Funds raised through the GoFundMe will help Robinson rebuild material possessions, like clothing and food, but it'll also be used for art supplies: "Until he is able to get back to doing what he does best: art," wrote Jessica in the fundraiser.
As of this writing, $19,062 has been raised toward the $25,000 goal, with 150 people donating. "When they evacuated, they left with very little, assuming they would be back in a couple of days," wrote Jessica. "Little did he or anyone else know, everything he owns, all personal belongings, art supplies, and original artworks were destroyed."
Robinson is perhaps best known to Commander players as the artist behind Bribery, Back to Basics, Thada Adel, Acquisitor and Reclaim.
