Update – New Fallout TV Season Coincides With WOTC Reminding Us They’ll Never Reprint Fallout Cards

UPDATE: Wizards of The Coast has revealed that an upcoming Secret Lair product will not only contain new Fallout cards based on the Amazon TV show, but also reprint cards from the previous Universes Beyond set. We were blind to think that Wizards wouldn’t take an opportunity to make piles of money by reprinting The Silver Shroud Costume, a $12 card which you can only get if you spend $150. With that said, we also see this reprinting as a direct rebuke of the journalism of Commander’s Herald, and we will not stand for it. As of today, our resolve to bring you the best in satirical Magic and board game news is even stronger, and we will begin producing more articles and headlines to make sure we are never this wrong again.

Redmond, WA – Wizards of the Coast created a press release today to remind their Magic: The Gathering customers that they’ll probably never own any Fallout cards if they haven’t got them already.

The press release comes hot on the heels of the release of the second season of Amazon’s Fallout streaming show, which would’ve been a great time to release reprints of the Universes Beyond: Fallout set.

“We would like to congratulate Amazon Studios on another great season of Fallout,” the press release began in a celebratory way, from one massive multi-million-dollar company to another. “They’ve created a show that truly immerses fans, and people that have never played the games, in the Fallout universe. So does our product we released last year, Universes Beyond: Fallout. But don’t worry, this isn’t an advertisement for an old product because it’s nearly impossible to find Fallout cards nowadays.”

Though the cards are not on the Reserve List, complications with rights between multiple companies make reprints of Universes Beyond sets difficult, but WOTC sees this as a feature.

“It is a shame that we cannot celebrate the new season by releasing old cards, but luckily the real fans with untold wealth can find secondhand card sales or find entire single packs on eBay for as little as $100. You can show you’re a true Fallout fan by becoming a wasteland wanderer after selling your house to afford some cards!

Fallout is all about managing resources and finding your way through the wasteland, so celebrate it by trying to scrounge up every last cent you have to spend $20 on one of the two-card sample packs that came with the Commander decks! Who knows, maybe you can even pull one of the specially foiled-and-numbered bobblehead cards that no one ever uses.”

At press time, Wizards also announced that their upcoming Universes Beyond: Elder Scrolls collaboration will come out a few years after Elder Scrolls 6 comes out, meaning we may not see it this millennium.
