Wizards of the Coast To Release Silksong Secret Lair Q3 of 2033
Renton, Washington
Hasbro subsidiary Wizards of the Coast, the creators of Alpha Blitz and the Simpsons Trading Card Game, announced another installation in their lucrative and therefore popular “Universes Beyond” line of products. “This is already our best pre-selling Secret Lair” gushed Wizards spokesperson Jake Gustafson, “and we think that can be attributed to the tie-in with the most hotly anticipated game of 2025 and the fact that customers still haven’t learned their lesson.”
The product will contain 6 cards from EDHREC’s “Top 100 most played cards” webpage with illustrations by Silksong artist Ari Gibson.
“Some consumers are a bit put off by the wait,” Gustafson shared “and we are sensitive to that. Fans of the franchise will appreciate the pains we took in selecting cards, art and release schedules that give them the full Silksong experience, an experience which includes waiting around for a decade for the thing to come out.”
In honor of Silksong’s $20 price tag, the Silksong Secret Lair will be priced at $19.99 for both foil and non-foil and be limited to 1 per account/LGS/entire continent of Australia.
Reactions online have been mixed. In a post on reddit, user stimjobreeve praised the decision, calling it “pretty basic Capitalism,” and “a great way to get another Sol Ring and Command Tower.” Others, including QueeferSutherland criticized the move, dismissively calling it “just another shameless NOTC cashgrab[sic]” and “pretty basic Capitalism.”
Fans who are feeling impatient can pass the 95 months and 4 weeks until the product’s release by getting in the queue on the secret lair site now if they want a prayer of snagging one.
