Secret Lair Deck "20 Ways To Win" Teased By Wizards Of The Coast
On Monday, November 18th, Wizards of the Coast discretely teased the "20 Ways To Win" preconstructed Secret Lair deck. This teaser arrived on a few different social media platforms, and boasts what we can currently speculate is a deck of alternate win conditions.
This deck, as its title suggests, may flaunt as many as twenty different alternate win conditions. Many alt-win condition cards are enchantments, and most need protecting in decks focused around them. Therefore, it seems apt to speculate that the Commander for this precon is Go-Shintai of Life's Origin, already shown in the teasers as one of the cards in the deck with special new art.
This news is still extremely fresh. While no new information is available at the time of writing, we can at least speculate on a few factors. For one, this Secret Lair deck's price should ideally align with past decks' prices. For example, "Raining Cats and Dogs" cost $149.99 on the Secret Lair website (and was therefore eligible for free shipping). "Angels: They're Just Like Us But Cooler And With Wings" also sold for that same price. Therefore, it is probably safe to assume this will be around (if not exactly) the same price as either of those two decks.
According to the Lead for the design of this deck, Daniel Holt, while he is an avid fan of the plane of Kamigawa, the alternate art for this deck's featured cards was determined before his involvement but may have been catered with the lead in mind. Holt also shared in a recent Twitter thread that he has a deck that is very similar to this one.
You'll be able to grab this deck on the Secret Lair website when the deck comes out (on a date yet to be announced). This release should in line with similar releases (like the aforementioned "Cats and Dogs" deck). As such, we expect this one to sell out quickly due to an expected limited-print run.
Reveals for this deck began on November 18th and will continue for some time. In the meantime, we'd love to hear from you. Have you ever purchased an entire Secret Lair deck from Wizards' website? What effort did it take, and for you, was it worth that effort? Sound off below!
