Hatsune Miku: Winter Diva Secret Lair Announced
Ready up, because it's almost time for a long-awaited Secret Lair drop series to drop at last! Secret Lair x Hatsune Miku: Winter Diva releases on Monday, February 10th. This new drop appears to be part of the Winter 2025 Superdrop. What cards can we expect the world-famous Vocaloid superstar Hatsune Miku to grace this time? Let's take a look!
Hatsune Miku Cards, Over 2024
Let's look at some of the Secret Lair x Hatsune Miku drops from throughout 2024. In April of that year, Wizards of the Coast announced the drop subseries of this name to great fanfare, especially in Asian and Pacific Island nations. This is where Miku's largest demographic of listeners seems to be located, so it's no surprise that this Secret Lair drop series became super-popular. Wizards promised players four Miku-themed drops in 2024, each somewhat themed after their release season. This first drop, themed after Springtime, featured such cards as Azusa, Lost but Seeking and Chandra's Ignition.
Summer came along, and we were treated to another drop. Secret Lair x Hatsune Miku: Digital Sensation featured six cards including a copy of Chord of Calling as well as a copy of Sol Ring. These drops sold out quickly as well. This was potentially due to the draw of getting another Secret Lair-exclusive Sol Ring but also possibly because it was Miku-themed. This drop series sold like hotcakes for a variety of reasons, it seems.
In the Fall of 2024, Wizards of the Coast released the Camp Totally Safe Superdrop. Within this superdrop, Secret Lair x Hatsune Miku: Electric Entourage made its appearance, the third of the four drops. In this drop, Hatsune Miku and many of her Vocaloid friends featured prominently, dressed and portraying stylized versions of Magic's Planeswalkers. This drop, as a result, included cards like Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury, Liliana of the Dark Realms, and The Royal Scions. This drop did not sell out immediately, and is still available on the Secret Lair webstore at the time of writing. This may have to do with a variety of factors, including the notion that not all of the cards feature Miku herself.
Secret Lair x Hatsune Miku: Winter Diva Card List
This brings us to the drop announced on Monday, January 27th. Secret Lair x Hatsune Miku: Winter Diva is another six-card drop with a bunch of really neat cards themed after the iconic Vocaloid diva and Wintertime. This drop is slated for the Winter 2025 Superdrop, despite Wizards of the Coast announcing that these drops were for 2024.
The six cards in Secret Lair x Hatsune Miku: Winter Diva are as follows:
- Swan Song
- Giada, Font of Hope, as "Miku, Font of Pop"
- Youthful Valkyrie
- Counterspell
- Brago, King Eternal, as "Miku, Queen Electric"
- Scrying Sheets
Overall, a good many of these cards needed a reprint. Swan Song and Brago, King Eternal may be standouts for this drop, but the copy of the iconic Counterspell is also quite welcomed.
