Let's review these drops again for those who missed our coverage of the Spring Superdrop's collaboration. According to Wizards of the Coast, Crypton Future Media, INC. created Hatsune Miku nearly two decades ago. Miku is a Vocaloid, meaning she does not exist, and is entirely synthetic. Unlike other artificial musical acts like Gorillaz, Miku is a computer program of sorts. As such, she can be programmed to sing almost anything, free from the physical constraints of a real-life performer. Her features in artists' work span from Pharrell Williams to Ashnikko and well beyond. However, her popularity has skyrocketed from conception. Now, Miku is a major worldwide musical phenomenon.
